In most low income communites, education and jobs are not a high priority when the draw to easy money through drugs and
prostution are so readily available.
The life of the individual who choses this path is not an easy one. Their life is full of danger from not only
the drugs they use but also from the violence that comes with the selling and useing of drugs.
This way of living also effects the family. Children are often exposed to the use of drugs and gun violence.
Familes are often left parentless due to the indivudual being caught and sent to jail or paying the ultimaate price witht
their life.
The program D.A.R.E helps the community to deal with the drug problem by education. Through this program,
children learn to identify drugs and drug use and how to deal with the situation.
The best way for a community to fight drug use and gun violence is to band together and teach the community another way
of living a violence free life.
By offering the community various programs, individuals can learn new skills and possibly leading to a trade.
